We once again reviewed the passé composé for the quiz on Thursday.
Next week we will have the unit quizzes on Tuesday and the chapter test on Thursday. There will also be a vocabulary quiz on 9.2 and 9.3 on Monday.

I buy a book. Buy what? A book. So book is the direct object of buy
I give a book to Mary. Give what? A book. To whom? to Mary. so book is the direct object and Mary is the indirect object.
Indirect objects tend to be people who are receiving a direct object, a thing.
