They then organized their folders, into four sections: notes, worksheets, vocab lists and study guides, and quizzes. Students are losing a lot of work, and not coming to class prepared. In the future they will lose participation points.
We reviewed numbers and students learned how to day there is/there are, and how to discuss how many of something there is. They began a worksheet on using these questions and answers. This is not homework.
To ask how many there is of something:
Il y a = There is/there are (no difference between the singular or plural)
combien = how many
Il y a combien de... = How many of... is there
Il ya deux étudiants. = There are two students.
