We then began looking at Chapter 4. This is the last chapter to be covered before the midterm, which will be on Monday. Feb 10th. We looked at the new vocabulary on pg 135. This chapter is about things you like to do, especially sports and hobbies.
When talking about sports and activities in this unit, you will either use the verb faire (to do or to make) or jouer (to play). Faire is followed by the prepositions de l', du, de la, or des and jouer is followed by the prepositions à l', au,à la, aux, or à des. Which preposition you use depends on whether the word that follows is masculine, feminine, singular or plural.
Until now, we have learned that to ask a question you simply raise your voice at the end of the sentence. Here is another way to ask a question. In this format, you know right away that a question is being asked:
Est-ce que tu aimes...? = Do you like...?
Remember that C'est = It is. So Est-ce is flipping the words around.
