Spanish Virtual Enrichment
Dear parents,
Here are some Spanish activities that your children can do while they are at home. On the left side I have all the tabs. If you click on them, you will see links, vocabulary practice on quizlet, read aloud books, songs, videos and websites for practice. My school email is: [email protected]
K-1st graders love our Spanish songs and read-aloud books. I have them all here on the tabs to the left. Even the chicken song!! It is a song from when I was a little girl in Spain.
My 2nd-5th graders in my schools, IE and CE, know how to use quizlet to practice Spanish vocabulary, and some kids are proud to say they have beaten my scores in the Match and Asteroid game!! Please email me ([email protected]) if they need help logging onto quizlet from home, or look at the instructions below:
Quizlet:
Go to quizlet.com
In search box, type froth66
Under “type” on the left, there should be a line that says “Classes”. Click on it.
Go to correct grade
Click on one of the sets.
Students can use the flash cards, learn how to spell words, create tests or play match or writing games. They love trying to beat or get close to my score.
Some students have their own accounts, but you do not need an account. You can just search “froth66” and do the activities as a guest.
Senorwooly.com
All my 3rd-5th graders have their own account. If they forget their password, they will be locked out. I can go in to reset the password, which I will make easy. Please email me for new password as Senor Wooly does not let us post it here.
K-3rd can also use senorwooly. Please email me for login instructions and password as I cannot post it here.
TV shows (Please watch yourself to decide if it is something you want your child to watch)
There are 4 great Spanish tv shows on Disney + and Netflix.
1) Violetta, Soy Luna and Bia are on Disney
2) Go Live Your Way is on Netflix.
All 4 of these shows are similar to High School Musical, with great catchy songs. Try and have 2nd-5th grade watch it in Spanish, with English subtitles.
Another thing they can do is watch an old fav movie... but in Spanish!! Show them how to switch the language.

Welcome to Spanish Newsletter 2022-23
Summer is over and Spanish classes are finally back! I am so excited to start my fourth year of teaching elementary Spanish in Clarkston. This year I will be teaching at Independence Elementary every day and 2 lessons on B day at Clarkston. If your child is new to Clarkston, this newsletter will give you some information about myself and the elementary Spanish curriculum.
For anyone who does not know me, I want to introduce myself briefly. I have been teaching Spanish for over 24 years now. Before coming to Clarkston, I taught Spanish and French for 14 years in the Berkley School District. I was born in Michigan, but I moved to Mallorca, Spain as a baby, and attended an English-speaking International School there. I grew up fully bilingual in Spanish and English, thanks to having a Spanish mother and an American father. I came to Michigan when I was 19, and went to Michigan State University for my Bachelor’s degree and later on to Wayne State University for my Masters’ degree. I have two sons, one is an electrical engineer for Consumers Energy in Kalamazoo, and one is a physical therapist in West Bloomfield. I am now a grandmother to an adorable boy, who is almost 5 months old. I love teaching languages, and I myself speak 6 languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, Catalan (Spoken in Barcelona, Spains) and some Russian :-)
Supplies needed for Spanish:
We would greatly appreciate any school supplies that you are able to contribute to the Spanish classroom. All of my Spanish students, from young 5’s-5th grade will need a folder with pockets and a spiral lined notebook, preferably not a bound composition book as those are not long enough.
Next school year 22-23, all students will again need a folder with pockets and a spiral notebook. Students can get new ones, or they can use their old folders and notebooks from 21-22.
Schedule:
I am at Independence Elementary day every day and at Clarkston Elementary on C days after lunch. The best way to contact me is by email at: [email protected]
At Clarkston Elementary, I will be teaching Spanish to Mrs. Walter's and Mrs. Gaines' classes.
At Independence Elementary, I will be teaching Spanish to all classes, from Level 4 and Young 5's to 5th grade.
Elementary School Information
Students will have Spanish every 4 days and the lesson lasts for 45 minutes. They will do a variety of songs, writing, reading, games as well as technology.
My Spanish Blog: http://franciscaroth.weebly.com/
I use this Spanish blog with links to songs, videos, websites for practice. There are tabs for each grade, as well as tabs for other activities, news and websites. I also post study guides, vocabulary lists, links to flashcards on quizlet.com.
My Quizlet account is https://quizlet.com/classes/froth66/
Students can log onto my quizlet account to practice vocabulary. Grades 2-5th grade will be creating their own accounts within the first month of school. Each grade has its own set of vocabulary words, with flashcards, quizzes and games they can play.
Here’s to a wonderful new year and ¡Olé to español! (Hurray for Spanish!)
¡Adiós!
